Peer Support – Basic Course

This three (3) day peer support training course is designed as a skills building module for new peer support specialists and team member(s). The course provides a comprehensive review of peer support best practices along with in-depth discussions on some of the new concepts in this critical area. It is presented from the practitioner’s perspective through interactive discussion, practical exercises and specific case studies examining real challenges peer supporters have faced. Our knowledgeable instructors have extensive experience in the very relevant disciplines of trauma recovery and program building, as well as many years of experience across the country conducting training and development courses. This is a great opportunity to learn about the new and best practices of contemporary peer support.

Peer Support Advanced Course

This two (2) day  peer support training course is designed as a skills building module for the experienced peer support specialists and team member(s). The course provides a comprehensive review of peer support practices along with in-depth discussions on some of the newer intervention and treatment concepts and programs in this critical area. Best practices are discussed via case studies and each participant is encouraged to bring a difficult or challenging case study for group discussion and analysis.

Peer Support Update Course

This one (1) day course designed as a skills building module for the veteran law enforcement peer supporter(s). The course provides a comprehensive review of trauma support best practices along with training on new concepts in this critical area. The course is presented from the veteran peer supporter perspective through interactive discussion, practical exercises, and specific case studies examining real challenges law enforcement peers face. Our knowledgable instructors have extensive experience in the very relevant disciplines of trauma recovery and program building, as well as many years of experience conducting critical incident stress management and critical incident trainings courses across the country. This is a great opportunity to learn new and best practices of contemporary trauma support.

Peer Support Coordinators Workshop

This one (1) day course is designed as a skills building module for Peer Support Coordinators and experienced Peer Support Team Member(s). The course provides a comprehensive review of peer support best practices along with in-depth discussions on some of the newer theories and programs in this critical area. It is presented from the practitioner’s perspective through interactive discussion, practical exercises and specific case studies that examin real challenges peer supporter specialists have faced when supporting others. Our knowledgeable instructors have extensive experience in the very relevant disciplines of trauma recovery, program building, and many years of critical incident stress management experience across the country. Career & Family Survival

This one (1) day course is designed as a skills building module for the new and veteran First Responders. Your significant other or spouse is invited at no cost. The course provides a comprehensive review of career challenges, impacts on relationships and families, and best practices for your career and family survival. It is presented from the First Responder family perspective through interactive discussion, practical exercises, and specific case studies examining real challenges First Responder families face. Our knowledgeable instructors have many years of experience, across the country in the very relevant disciplines of trauma recovery, program building, and critical incident counseling. This is a great opportunity to learn new and best practices of contemporary career and family survival.

Surviving “The Golden Hour” After Being Wounded

This is a half day course designed for law enforcement officers to mentally and physically survive life threatening wounds and/ or have the knowledge to help other officers or civilians who have sustained life threatening wounds before medics arrive on scene. The course is designed to give you the knowledge necessary to survive what the U.S. Military Medical Corp has called “The Golden Hour” after suffering a life threatening wound. We offer this course because, whether you are in an urban or rural setting, it takes time for emergency medical services to arrive and render aid. This course helps close the gap and increase your chances for surviving life threatening wounds, and in the end, can save your life or the life of a fellow officer.

Building A Wellness Program For Your Organization

This half day workshop is designed for First Responder organizations who want to plan and implement an agency wide wellness program. The workshop provides comprehensive review of wellness program best practices. You learn how to design and build your own agency specific wellness program to promote a physically and mentally healthier workforce. The course is presented through interactive discussion, practical exercises and specific case examples. Our experienced instructors have extensive knowledge in program building, and many years of experience working with organizations across the country and internationally. This is a half day workshop designed for the First Responder planning to retire or who has retired. You will learn how to build your next “life mission” of purpose and direction, as well as how to design your own retirement goals and wellness plan. This training and development course is presented through interactive discussion, practical exercises and specific case studies examining real challenges First Responder Retirees have faced.
